Meet the friendly staff at Animal Health Care Center
Dr. Cassandra Cruzen graduated from Michigan State University in 1994. Soon after graduation, she moved to Alabama where she has been practicing in the Madison area ever since. Her husband works for NASA and they have two boys. She is owned by a cat named Pumpkin and a tiny Chorkie named Teddy.
Dr. Dodson was born in Murray, KY where she knew from an early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended college in her hometown at Murray State University before moving to Auburn for graduate school. She graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Dodson found her way to north Alabama in the winter of 2013 and now calls it home. She is married to her husband, Chad Watts and they have a beautiful little girl named Evie. Dr. Dodson has 3 small dogs (Kimmie, JoJo, and Manny) and 2 turtles (Raiden and Squirtle).
Katie Brooks grew up in Priceville, AL. After graduation she studied Animal Sciences at Auburn University then graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She recently married her husband Michael, and they have one cat named Priscilla Pig. She loves working with dogs and cats (especially cats!) and their owners to help them live happy, healthy lives!
Dr. Olivia Mann is a Huntsville area native, growing up in Hazel Green. After attending Mississippi State University and achieving her DVM in 2019, she decided that her hometown was too good to leave. Dr. Mann and her husband, Matthew, live with a goofy pit bull (Otis) and a sassy cat (Oscar). When she is not at the clinic, you can usually find Dr. Mann mountain biking, kayaking, or enjoying a good book!
Bailee was born and raised in north Alabama where her passion for animals was fostered by a family who spoiled her with a variety of animals to care for. She started her work with Animal Health Care Center in 2012 as a kennel assistant, then a veterinary technician, and is now practice manager. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and clients. When she isn’t working at AHCC, you can find her spending time with her precious daughter, Livi, and her four legged fur-babies Ross and Fiona.
Kristen is originally from northern Michigan and has relocated to beautiful Alabama with her husband and three fur babies. She has always loved working with and around animals and has found AHCC to be the perfect fit for her.
Stephen was born in Adelaide, Australia and has lived in Huntsville for the past 15 years. He graduated from Sparkman High School, and is currently pursuing a Veterinary Technician degree. He loves getting to work with animals, and enjoys the opportunity to see how a great veterinary hospital works. Stephen is owned by 4 cats, 3 dogs, and several chickens
Katie grew up in Destin, FL and moved to Huntsville from Gainesville, FL in 2017. She loves working with animals and is currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. When Katie is not at the clinic you can find her studying, horseback riding, or hiking. She is owned by 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a ferret.
Julie was born in Tucson, Arizona and has lived in Alabama for the past 12 years. She attended the University of North Alabama for a biology degree to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Julie has a passion for animals and strives to give the best care toe very patient she interacts with. She is owned by Luna, her four year old dachshund mix, and Courage, her six month old rescue.
Maddie graduated from Kansas State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management. Maddie is a cat lady at heart but enjoys working with animals of all shapes and sizes. In her free time, she can be found biking, kayaking, or hanging out with her two feline fur-babies, Keeks and Elsa. Maddie’s career goal is to one day become a licensed veterinary technician.
Sarah was born at Fort Bragg NC into a military family leading her to live in several different places throughout her life. She knew at a young age she desired to be a veterinarian and plans to attend the veterinary science program at Auburn. She is a recent graduate from James Clemens High School and a full time student at Calhoun Community College. She has a love for horses and has competed in horse competitions throughout her childhood and currently rides at a local stable. She moved to Madison, AL in 2017 from Florida and began interning at AHCC which led to a staff position. She loves working with the dogs and cats and cares for them as if they were her own.
Originally from Oklahoma, moved to Madison in 2016. Has two crazy Boxers, Remmy & Gunner. He absolutely loves working with animals, the crazier the better. Currently attending UAH as a freshman for Aerospace Engineering.
Elyse is a senior at James Clemens high school and a member of their Health Science Internship program. Elyse plans to attend Auburn University next fall where she will pursue Veterinary Medicine. Elyse has always had a passion for all animals and has 4 furry friends of her own. A dog named Shelby, 2 cats (Sadie and Jesse), and a pig named Penelope!
Kaylee was born in Chicago, Illinois and came to Alabama with her family, She has been a client of Animal Health Care Center for the past two years and now works at our facility! Kaylee has a burning passion for all animals and loves to make sure each and every patient is taken care of. She is currently in school for pharmacy technician. She has a fur baby of her own and loves to spoil Stoney!
