Madison City Farmers Market is the area’s original local, producer-only farmers market founded in 2007. Everything sold at the market is grown or crafted by local farmers and craftspeople. Vendors provide a wide selection of the freshest local fruits, veggies, cheese, eggs, meats, milk, honey, jams, relishes, home-baked goods, plant, and flowers. Come see creations from local artisans including handmade cards, soaps, lotions, candles, wood crafts, sewn items, and other handmade products.

Rainbow Mountain Trails
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, we suggest that you check out the Rainbow Mountain Trails! Hike through some of Madison, Alabama’s beautiful, green woods with friends, family, or just alone. These trails are a great place to bring your dog as well – they’ll love the exercise and time outdoors with their favorite human!
There are several trails in the complex, ranging in length from just a few hundred feet to over 1 ½ miles – perfect for all fitness levels. There’s also a playground for young children if they’re not up to a hike but still want to get some fresh air and let some energy out.
Mad County Winery
As Madison’s oldest licensed distillery of moonshine, Mad County Winery is a great place for those who want to experience the flavors of the south. They also offer wines and other spirits, ranging from friendly to not for the faint of heart. From rum to gin, you’ll find everything you’re looking for here – and things you didn’t even know you wanted in your life!
Creekwood Park
If you’re looking for fresh air but don’t quite want to go for a hike at trails like Rainbow Mountain’s, we recommend heading over to Creekwood Park for a couple of hours. It offers several nice amenities, including top-notch playground equipment, bathrooms, several pavilions, lovely walking trails that run along the small creek, and our personal favorite: an excellent dog park. If you need a new place to take your dog for a walk, we highly recommend spending some time here! If you have kids, it can double as a place for everyone to exercise – handy when you want to make sure you’re living the healthiest life possible.
