Meet the friendly staff at Animal Health Care Center!

  • Dr.
    Cassandra

    Dr. Cruzen graduated from Michigan State University in 1994. Soon after graduation, she moved to Alabama where she has been practicing in the Madison area ever since. Her husband works for NASA and they have two boys. She is owned by a cat named Pumpkin, a yellow Lab named Buck, and a tiny Chorkie named Teddy.


  • Dr. Dana Dodson
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Dodson was born in Murray, KY where she knew from an early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended college in her hometown at Murray State University before moving to Auburn for graduate school. She graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Dodson found her way to north Alabama in the winter of 2013 and now calls it home. She is married to her husband, Chad Watts and they have a beautiful little girl named Evie. Dr. Dodson has 3 small dogs (Kimmie, JoJo, and Manny) and 2 turtles (Raiden and Squirtle).

  • Dr. Katie Brooks
    Veterinarian

    Katie Brooks grew up in Priceville, AL. After graduation she studied Animal Sciences at Auburn University then graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She recently married her husband Michael, and they have one cat named Priscilla Pig. She loves working with dogs and cats (especially cats!) and their owners to help them live happy, healthy lives!

  • Bailee
    Lead Veterinary Technician

    Bailee was born and raised in north Alabama where her passion for animals was fostered by a family who spoiled her with a variety of animals to care for. She started her work with Animal Health Care Center in 2012 as a kennel assistant and has since become a veterinary technician. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and clients, and providing the best nursing care available. When she isn’t working at AHCC, you can find her caring for her own menagerie which includes three dogs and a cat, as well as a pig, goat, several silkie chickens, and a cow. 

  • Becky
    Receptionist

    Becky has been part of the Animal Health Care Center team since June of 2015. When she isn’t at the clinic, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband. She also enjoys spending time with her three children and three grandchildren. She has two dogs and two cats.

  • Brittaney
    Receptionist

    Brittaney was born and raised in Alabama and has always had a burning desire to work with animals. She has 2 boys and they are owned by 2 amazing cats, Bleu, Ghost and a sweet puppy Winston.

  • Stephen
    Veterinary Technician Student

    Stephen was born in Adelaide, Australia and has lived in Huntsville for the past 15 years. He graduated from Sparkman High School, and is currently pursuing a Veterinary Technician degree. He loves getting to work with animals, and enjoys the opportunity to see how a great veterinary hospital works. Stephen is owned by 4 cats, 3 dogs, and several chickens


  • Katie
    Veterinary Technician Student

    Katie grew up in Destin, FL and moved to Huntsville from Gainesville, FL in 2017. She loves working with animals and is currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. When Katie is not at the clinic you can find her studying, horseback riding, or hiking. She is owned by 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a ferret.

  • Isabella
    Kennel Assistant

    Isabella has a genuine love and passion for animals. Her favorite part of this job is getting to know and spending time with each patient/boarder individually so she can make sure they are comfortable and happy during each visit. When she’s not at work taking care of animals she’s either volunteering or fostering an animal through Friends of Rescue in Huntsville. She also has two dogs, Toby and Zoe, and two cats, Kovu and Fenti, who she loves more than anything. 

  • Ryan
    Kennel Assistant

    Ryan was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and moved to Huntsville in 2013. He loves working with animals and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of work, you can find him studying, playing with his pets, or playing video games. He is owned by two cats and a fish.

  • Raelyn
    Kennel Assistant

    Raelyn is a senior at James Clemens and hopes to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. When not working you can find her volunteering with MARF at Petco or spending time with her two cats, Mocha and Porter.

  • Isabelle
    Veterinary Assistant

    Isabelle is from the Madison area and has been with Animal Health Care Center since November of 2018. She loves working with animals and has two of her own. Isabelle enjoys traveling, being active, and spending time with her family. She is a student at Auburn University studying Animal Sciences and is pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.

  • Sarah
    Kennel Assistant

    Sarah moved to Huntsville from Dallas, Texas in 2016. She has volunteered at several animal shelters around Alabama, and loves to learn more about animals and their care. Sarah loves sports, going out to eat, and her kitty named Boo.

  • Alexa
    Kennel Assistant

    Alexa moved to Madison from Missouri in 2011. As she gained more furry family members, her passion for animals grew. Alexa has always had dogs, cats, and fish, and she has always enjoyed providing the best care and support available. Alexa is currently a sophomore in high school and has hopes of pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine. She is owned by two beautiful German Shepherds (Raina and Hedi), two cats, and a fish.

  • Amanda
    Kennel Assistant

    Amanda is from the Madison area and is currently a senior in high school. She has always had a love for animals of all kinds, and currently has two dogs of her own. When she isn't at work or school, she enjoys playing with her dogs and spending time with family and friends.

  • Shelby
    Groomer

    Shelby was born in Alabama and raised around all kinds of animals. She has had many of her own including a crested gecko, ball python, cats, dogs, and a pony. Animals have been her passion since she could remember. She likes to have one on one time with her grooms and enjoys being able to give them extra love and pampering.
